My Story
A Professional Instructor at Your Service
I have been passionate about teaching since I was 16 years old when I provided my first private lesson of the English language to a little girl. From then on I have been working with various students and helping them acquire a high level of knowledge of English, Russian, and French. I earned my first Master's degree in Linguistics and Translation Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University. After moving to the USA I started working with exceptional children which sparked my passion for special education. I find it highly rewarding to see progress in my students' knowledge and behavior while helping them grow and become successful members of society. I ended up earning a Master's Degree in General and Special Education as well as teaching credentials in these areas which allows me to reach a greater population of students who need support. I also possess authorizations to teach students with autism spectrum disorders and English learners. My experience includes over 15 years of teaching in private and public schools in both general and special education settings. I am happy to share my experience and knowledge to help my young students of all abilities set a successful beginning of their life journey.
My Philosophy of Teaching
What makes me stand out
My philosophy of teaching is based on the true belief that all children can learn, just not at the same time and not at the same pace. A lot of exceptional learners have hidden talents that most people cannot notice because they are too focused on a person’s disability. In fact, we must not forget that the most important characteristics of exceptional learners are their ABILITIES, not their DISABILITIES. My purpose as a special education teacher is to help exceptional learners achieve their full potential, develop confidence in their abilities, create healthy relationships with people around them, and eventually, become successful members of the modern society. It is important to recognize people’s abilities instead of allowing their disabilities to become the focus    of our attention. I take pride in working with students with special needs      to make their abilities visible.
